Overview: With a shared vision of making a positive impact on the environment and building sustainable, affordable housing for communities to thrive, it’s been great working with Black Country Housing Group to develop 13 brand-new homes at Darkhouse Lane, Coseley, with the first phase being completed in 2020, which consisted of 142 plots. As a partnerships property developer that is driven by Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles and is focused on reducing the overall impact the construction industry has on our environment, there were a number of environmental goals that we worked with BCHG to embed in the development. These included heating and hot water being provided by electricity via an electric combi boiler with solar panels and battery backup (designed to minimise running costs for future residents and transition away from using gas.), secure cycle storage to encourage the use of alternative modes of transport, and elctrical vehicle charging points for each property.
